What is the difference between cone beam computer tomography from the plain film conventional x-ray?

CBCT is a digital x-ray scanner for scanning the jaw in one scan in a matter of seconds. The cone shaped x-ray provides 360 views that can be presented in 2D image and 3D volume. It has a user friendly software system to reconstruct true size, distortion frees high resolution images.

Your doctor has decided that the benefit of having these images taken far outweighs the risk. CBCT scanner is fast, comfortable and painless. It provides complete set of images with less radiation than conventional or medical type CT.

Do I have to schedule an appointment?

We ask that you please call the office to schedule an appointment to help prevent long wait times. Please bring the referral slip your doctor has given to you.

What is the cost of the procedures?

The cost will depend upon the images your doctor has requested. When you call for an appointment we will give you an accurate fee estimate. Full payment is due at the time of your appointment. We only accept cash or check.

How and when will my doctor get the results?

When the scanning procedure is done. The patient will be receiving the copy of CD with the viewer software.

The doctor will just play it in his computer. We can also send the results thru email. In some cases, we also provide printed results. Study models, photographs, cephalometric analysis are processed and printed in 2-5 working days.
